Baccarat Rules and Strategy

Punto Banco Regulations

Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below 10 are worth face value and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is one. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t really people; they just represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The value for every hand is the total of the cards, however the first number is dropped. For example, a hand of 5 and six has a total of 1 (five plus 6 = eleven; ignore the first ‘one’).

A 3rd card might be given out using the following rules:

- If the player or house has a total of 8 or 9, both players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. Players otherwise hold.

- If the gambler stays, the house takes a card on five or less. If the player takes a card, a guide is used to figure out if the bank stands or takes a card.

Baccarat Odds

The better of the 2 totals wins. Winning bets on the house payout 19 to 20 (even money less a 5 percent rake. The Rake is kept track of and cleared out when you quit the table so ensure you have money remaining before you head out). Winning wagers on the player pays 1:1. Winning bets for tie frequently pays 8 to 1 but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a bad wager as ties happen less than one in every 10 rounds. Be cautious of betting on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for nine to one versus 8 to 1)

Bet on properly punto banco provides generally decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Scheme

As with all games Baccarat has some accepted misconceptions. One of which is the same as a misconception in roulette. The past is not a prophecy of events about to happen. Recording previous outcomes on a chart is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and possibly the most accomplished method is the one-three-two-six plan. This method is deployed to build up earnings and minimizing risk.

Start by placing 1 dollar. If you succeed, add 1 more to the two on the game table for a total of 3 units on the second bet. Should you win you will now have six on the game table, take away four so you keep 2 on the 3rd bet. Should you come away with a win on the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth bet.

Should you lose on the initial round, you take a loss of one. A win on the initial round followed by a hit on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Success on the first two with a defeat on the third provides you with a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a hit on the 4th means you balance the books. Winning all 4 wagers gives you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you are able to squander the 2nd wager five instances for each successful streak of 4 rounds and still experience no loss.
