Punto Banco Standards

Baccarat is bet on with 8 decks of cards in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below ten are counted at face value while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the first number is dumped. e.g., a hand of five and six has a value of one (five plus six = 11; ignore the 1st ‘one’).

A 3rd card might be dealt depending on the rules below:

- If the player or banker gets a total of 8 or 9, the two players hold.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. Players otherwise stay.

- If the player holds, the banker hits on five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to decide if the banker stands or takes a card.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds

The better of the 2 scores wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (equal money less a 5% commission. Commission are recorded and paid off when you leave the table so be sure to have funds around just before you leave). Winning wagers on the gambler pays out at 1:1. Winning wagers for a tie normally pays 8:1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a awful wager as a tie occurs less than one in every ten hands. Be cautious of wagering on a tie. However odds are substantially greater for 9:1 vs. 8 to 1)

Played correctly baccarat banque gives pretty good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Punto Banco Scheme

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has some general myths. One of which is similar to a myth in roulette. The past isn’t an indicator of events yet to happen. Keeping track of previous results at a table is a bad use of paper and an insult to the tree that was cut down for our stationary needs.

The most familiar and possibly the most successful course of action is the 1-3-2-6 plan. This method is deployed to build up winnings and minimizing losses.

Start by wagering one dollar. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 units on the second bet. Should you win you will now have six on the table, subtract four so you keep 2 on the third bet. If you succeed on the 3rd round, put down 2 on the 4 on the game table for a total of six on the 4th round.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the 1st round followed by a hit on the second creates a loss of 2. Success on the initial 2 with a defeat on the 3rd gives you with a take of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th means you break even. Winning at all four wagers gives you with twelve, a gain of 10. This means you are able to lose the 2nd round five times for every successful run of 4 bets and in the end, are even.
