Baccarat Policies and Strategy
Baccarat Chemin de Fer Policies
Baccarat is wagered on with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards under ten are valued at their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand is the total of the two cards, however the 1st digit is discarded. For example, a hand of five and six has a total of 1 (5 plus six = eleven; dump the first ‘one’).
A additional card might be given out based on the rules below:
- If the gambler or house achieves a score of 8 or 9, the two players stay.
- If the player has less than five, he takes a card. Players otherwise stand.
- If the gambler stays, the banker hits on 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a guide is used to see if the bank stays or hits.
Punto Banco Odds
The larger of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the house payout 19 to 20 (even payout less a five percent commission. The Rake is kept track of and paid off once you quit the table so ensure you have cash left before you leave). Winning wagers on the gambler pay 1:1. Winning bets for a tie normally pays out at 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad wager as a tie occurs less than one in every 10 rounds. Be wary of betting on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for nine to one vs. 8 to 1)
Played correctly punto banco gives generally good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Punto Banco Method
As with all games baccarat banque has some accepted false impressions. One of which is close to a misunderstanding in roulette. The past isn’t an indicator of events yet to happen. Tracking past outcomes at a table is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary desires.
The most established and probably the most successful method is the one, three, two, six method. This tactic is employed to pump up earnings and minimizing risk.
Start by placing 1 unit. If you succeed, add one more to the 2 on the game table for a sum of three units on the second bet. If you succeed you will hold 6 on the game table, remove 4 so you are left with 2 on the 3rd round. Should you succeed on the 3rd wager, put down two to the four on the game table for a total of 6 on the 4th round.
If you do not win on the 1st bet, you take a hit of 1. A win on the initial wager followed by a hit on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the initial two with a loss on the 3rd gives you with a gain of 2. And success on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth means you are even. Winning at all four bets gives you with 12, a gain of 10. This means you can give up the 2nd bet five times for every favorable run of 4 bets and in the end, are even.
