Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than 10 are said to be at face value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they just act as the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the sum of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven as well as 5 produces a tally of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card can be given out depending on the following codes:

- If the player or banker has a tally of eight or 9, each bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have funds left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays eight to one but sometimes nine to 1. (This is a terrible gamble as ties will occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. Nevertheless odds are greatly better – 9 to 1 versus eight to 1)

When played correctly, baccarat presents generally good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is surely not an actual indicator of future events. Keeping track of historic outcomes on a chart is a complete waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and almost certainly most successful technique is the 1-three-2-6 scheme. This scheme is used to pump up winnings and lowering risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
