Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than ten are worth their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they merely depict the 2 hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards are then played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for every hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven as well as five results in a score of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be given out depending on the foll. standards:

- If the gambler or banker has a total of eight or nine, the two bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Successful bets on the banker payout nineteen to 20 (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have funds remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie normally pay eight to one but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is not a good wager as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. Avoid wagering on a tie. Regardless odds are positively better – nine to one vs. 8 to one)

Played accurately, baccarat offers relatively good odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with all games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is not a predictor of future happenings. Keeping track of old outcomes on a chart is a complete waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and feasibly most successful technique is the one-3-two-6 technique. This plan is employed to increase earnings and limiting risk.

start by betting one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
