Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards under ten are valued at their printed number meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they only represent the 2 hands to be given out).
Two hands of 2 cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for every hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 as well as five results in a total of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card might be played depending on the following practices:
- If the player or banker has a total score of eight or 9, each bettors stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the player hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have $$$$$ left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie usually pay eight to one but occasionally nine to one. (This is a bad wager as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try wagering on a tie. Even so odds are considerably better – 9 to one vs. eight to 1)
Played smartly, baccarat offers generally decent odds, away from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not an actual indicator of future events. Tracking of past outcomes on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most common and possibly most successful tactic is the 1-three-2-6 concept. This process is used to magnify profits and cutting back risk.
Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of 6 on the fourth bet.
If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
