Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are give a value of face value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they simply symbolize the 2 hands to be given out).
2 hands of 2 cards are then played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for any hand will be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of seven … five has a value of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card could be given out depending on the following regulations:
- If the bettor or banker has a total score of 8 or 9, each players stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you have dollars left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pay eight to one but on occasion nine to one. (This is an awful wager as ties will happen less than one every ten hands. Definitely don’t try placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are significantly better – nine to one vs. 8 to 1)
When done accurately, baccarat offers relatively decent odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Strategy
As with many games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future results. Tracking of historic results on a chart is simply a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most accepted and feasibly most successful method is the one-3-2-six concept. This tactic is used to increase earnings and limiting risk.
start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of six on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
