Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than ten are counted at their printed number whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they simply act as the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of two cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for any hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven … 5 produces a total of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card can be played depending on the following standards:

- If the player or banker has a value of 8 or nine, both bettors stand.

- If the bettor has five or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores will be the winner. Victorious bets on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie typically pay 8 to 1 and occasionally 9 to 1. (This is not a good gamble as ties will occur less than one every ten hands. abstain from wagering on a tie. Even so odds are especially better – nine to 1 versus 8 to one)

When played properly, baccarat offers relatively good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future results. Keeping track of past conclusions on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and probably most successful technique is the one-3-two-6 concept. This technique is used to accentuate earnings and minimizing risk.

Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Thus that you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
