Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued less than ten are worth their printed number whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they strictly symbolize the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of seven and 5 has a total score of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be played depending on the following standards:

- If the gambler or banker has a score of 8 or 9, both players stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores is the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so make sure to have dollars still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winner bets for tie normally pays out at eight to 1 but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a crazy wager as ties will happen less than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try betting on a tie. Nevertheless odds are vastly better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to one)

When played smartly, baccarat presents generally good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some common false impressions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an indicator of future happenings. Monitoring of old outcomes on a chart is a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and possibly most successful tactic is the 1-three-2-six concept. This technique is employed to pump up profits and reducing risk.

Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the four on the table for a sum of six on the fourth wager.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
