Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards which are of a value less than ten are of face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they only act as the 2 hands to be dealt).

2 hands of 2 cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for each hand is the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of seven as well as 5 has a value of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card could be dealt depending on the following standards:

- If the bettor or banker has a total score of eight or 9, each gamblers stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart will be used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have funds left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pay out eight to 1 and on occasion nine to one. (This is a terrible wager as ties happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid laying money on a tie. Regardless odds are supremely better – 9 to one versus eight to one)

When done accurately, baccarat offers generally good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future happenings. Tracking of previous results on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most popular and almost certainly most successful tactic is the one-3-two-six technique. This method is used to increase successes and cutting back risk.

start by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
