Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards valued less than ten are counted at their printed value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they simply portray the two hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards are then given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For example, a hand of 7 … five gives a tally of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card could be given out depending on the following regulations:

- If the player or banker has a total of eight or 9, each bettors stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have dollars still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie usually pays out at eight to 1 but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a bad gamble as ties occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are appreciably better – 9 to 1 versus eight to one)

When played accurately, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some well-known false impressions. 1 of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future events. Staying abreast of last results on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and probably most successful tactic is the 1-3-two-six scheme. This tactic is used to magnify wins and reducing risk.

commence by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the third bet, add two to the four on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th wager.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. A win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
